In the context of Latitud Go, startup capital refers to what is known in Brazilian legislation as "capital social", and it is the net value invested into a company to cover a company's costs until it becomes profitable.
There isn't a minimum amount requirement under the law, but common practice is to have at least R$1,000 assigned to cover expenses, and that's the recommendation we stand by.
Think of it this way – if you've been bootstrapping while you figure out your MVP and product-market fit, all of the monetary and property values allocated or invested are part of your startup capital.
If you want to be diligent about the amount you'll define, consider what you'll need to hire talent, purchase or lease equipment and space, pay all mandatory legal and governmental fees and anything else needed to keep the company afloat until it becomes self-sustaining.
